I am Black History

I am a poet like Maya,

The Truth like Sojourner,

Outspoken like Malcom,

And a pretty faster learner.

Courageous like Harriet,

Powerful like MLK,

I’m spiritual like him too,

Behind my God, I don’t play.

I read because they told me I couldn’t.

I write because they told me I wouldn’t.

I grind because nothing is given.

I do what people say that I shouldn’t.

I don’t copy, I create.

I don’t conform, I debate.

I learn from my mistakes because ignorance doesn’t make you great.

I’m a builder, a believer, an overachiever, a successful Black woman, my own cheerleader.

I’m bold, I’m brave, I’m humble, I’m saved.

I chase purpose and dreams because I’m already paid.

I’m my own brand. I’ve got my own man. When I’m not having fun, I’m executing my master plan.

I’m not Black by choice,

But I’m proud on purpose.

My ancestors paved the way,

And Imma show ‘em it was worth it.

In short, I'm a work of ART (Aptitude, Responsibility, & Talent). My goal is to Attract, Retain, and Teach an audience between the ages of 14 to about 50 and beyond the disciplines of life. I've been blessed with the gift of giving knowledge and creating peace within the souls of many who are starving for spiritual satisfaction. I'm no prophet, but I do believe that I am one of God's chosen spiritual leaders and sources of information on how to walk a straight path down a crooked road.
